USE THE LINKS AT LEFT TO CHOOSE A LOCATION. EACH PAGE HAS A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE LOCATION, AS WELL AS PHOTOS. SOME OF THE LOCATION PAGES HAVE VIDEO CLIPS ON THEM AS WELL. THESE VIDEO CLIPS ARE HIGH-QUALITY MPEG-4 CLIPS, ENCODED WITH THE X264 CODEC (SIMILAR TO THE H264 CODEC WHICH IS USED ON BLU-RAY DISCS). YOU WILL NEED A MPEG-4 PLAYER TO VIEW THESE CLIPS. THE TWO MOST COMMON ONES ARE QUICKTIME (MAKE SURE IT'S A RECENT VERSION) AND THE VLC MEDIA PLAYER.

NOTES/TIPS:
-The tour is described from Enola heading railroad east to Perryville. If you are coming the other direction, you would have to reverse the directions I list.
-South of Washington Boro the Port Road becomes a bit tricky to access. I highly recommend bringing a county road map along. I use the ADC Lancaster County Atlas, which can be found at any area Wawa (convenience store), plus I'm sure there are a few other place you can get them.
-Chasing is almost impossible unless a train gets held up in a siding.
-Cell phone reception south of Columbia along the river is pretty poor.
-A scanner is very useful here, as all trains call lineside signals, and you are almost always within range of at least one defect detector.
-Foreign power is a rarity, as locomotives must have cab signals and LSLs (Locomotive Speed Limiters), and be approved by Amtrak to run on the Northeast Corridor. CSX has a few Amtrak-approved locomotives, but I've only ever seen them once on the Port Road.
