Minnick, at milepost 2, is home to the Minnick Car Inspector.  Simply put, the inspector checks every train that passes his location.  Trains will usually call the inspector when they get close to his location.  The inspector is based in a small office along the entrance to a sewer plant.   This is more than likely NS property, so I usually stay clear of there.  The alternative location is where Frenchtown Road turns away from the Port Road.  To get here.  Turn right onto Mt Ararat Farm Road from 222 south.  Make the next left onto Frenchtown Road.  Follow this road down to the tracks.  There is enough space to park along the shoulder.  This is right at the 21W and 22W signal bridge (Pennsy style), and the connection to what used to be a small yard.  There used to be a few industries here, which were served by a local freight.  The only thing left is a single yard track, which is severed from the mainline.
From this location you can also see the CSX bridge over the Susquehanna (and the Port Road).  This is CSX's Philadelphia Subdivision, which runs from Baltimore to Philadelphia. CSX has a siding just east of here at Aikin, and is a popular place to stage meets.  Traffic on this line is very hit or miss.  Some days trains will come in bunches, other days...nothing. You can also shoot the CSX bridge from the Perryville boat ramp which is a mile or so south on Frenchtown Road.  CSX radio traffic can be monitored at 160.230 and 161.100.
