H15 MarshRun Thumnail H15 MarshRun Thumnail

These two views show the H15 crew pulling an empty coal train westbound from Brunner Island.  Both the Turnpike overpass and the Marsh Run defect detector are visible in these shots.  Also note the Operation Lifesaver emblems on the lead C40-9W.

Marsh Run is a tiny location just south of New Cumberland, where a creek by the same name empties into the Susquehanna River.  To get here, follow Old York Road south out of New Cumberland.  after you cross the PA Turnpike, you will start going uphill.  Turn left onto Marsh Creek Road (it's not much of a turn, you'll almost go completely straight).  Follow this road back over the turnpike and all the way down to the tracks.  There is an opening along the tree line where you can turn in.  If you continue to the end of Marsh Run Road you will end up at the turnpike bridge over the Susquehanna, however this area is posted for no trespassing.
This location isn't very photogenic, but does offer a few props, mainly the PA Turnpike bridge and the Marsh Run defect detector.  To the north you will notice a switch and a track heading off to the west.  This track goes into the nearby Defense Distribution Center, but i do not think it's been used for a while. Also of note, the tracks here run directly east and west, which may help with the sun angles.
